24 Mar 2026:
807/892 (90%) of monsters have had their Darkus and swing rate measured.
766/892 (87%) of monsters have had their total defense measured (Atkus required to hit them, with good timing).
585/892 (66%) of monsters have had their Higgrus measured.
454/892 (51%) of monsters have had their Atkus measured, which is reported as defense required to brick (divide that number by 1.42 to get the monster's Atkus).
A few new monsters found in the past year have been added.
Spoiler warning: The information contained in the bestiary is considered a spoiler by some. This is a complete bestiary of the creatures found in the Lok'Groton island chain from the MMORPG Clan Lord.
Recent major news:
- The bestiary should be complete, with all regularly-spawning monsters. Please let me know if you find anything that spawns outside of GM invasions that I do not have on the list.
- Bestiary creature strengths range from precise calculations (Atkus to hit a monster, a creature's Darkus and swing rate) to good estimates (monster Histia, total defense required to brick a monster). I appreciate updates to the numbers if they are off by more than about 20 percent, particularly if it is a monster that I have noted down that its strengths have been measured.
- The backend database of the bestiary can be downloaded here in Excel format - this current version is from February 2026
This site was created by, and is maintained by, HWC Org du Lac. I would like to give special thanks to Noivad for hosting the bestiary for years and keeping everything running, and to Leinis, Geotzou, and Gorvbot for help with making the bestiary quantitative. Also thanks over the years to Worf, Shakyamuni, Kalian, Himitsu, ShadowEarth, Drablak, Kani, Mork, Biro, the maintainers of Puddleopedia, and everyone else who has helped over the years.
A few key points you may want to read before going on:
- The monster "family" organization is categorized by Ranger study families.
- The creature's "experience level" is usually based off of how much it costs to stuff that creature for a trophy. Some creatures are not stuffable (insubstantial undine) or not quantitative (minimum trophy costs is 200c). This "experience level" correlates closely with the slaughter/dispatch/kill/vanquish level of the monster, with some exceptions. Thanks much to Leinis who did the vast majority of collection for this statistic for monsters over 200c. I measured the monsters under 200c and most insubstantial undine and ethereal.
- Good estimates are provided of the Atkus required to hit a creature with proper timing, defense (Detha + Balthus training) to brick consistently, the Darkus trained by the creature (divide by 10 for how much Higgrus is taken per hit), the monster's average number of frames between swings (divide by 5 for swings per second) and the rough amount of health the creature has (always higgrus, even if the notes say "histia"). These numbers are generally reasonably accurate, particularly for those indicated in bold which are calculated. Note that one Balthus is worth 80.5% as much defense as a single rank of defense while at full balance. Each Histia is 92.5% of a Higgrus rank.
- Live sketches are available for each creature in the bestiary. These can be viewed by clicking on the image of the creature.
- See the help section for more information.
- The Puddleopedia's bestiary has some information not contained here, relating to story and the history of the creature (when available), rather than the practical hunting and day-to-day information contained here. The bestiary there is mostly complete, and it offers a contrast to this hunt-oriented bestiary.
